Long years of experience and experience in field work with the British Petroleum Company and Drummond Limited gave rise to the creation of the “Rápido Aprenda Español” immersion program, where I had the experience of teaching Spanish to executives from different multinational companies and diplomatic entities such as Petrominerales, Baker Oil Tools, Embassy of the Netherlands, Tepma, to name a few.

With an extensive background and experience in teaching, elaboration of pedagogical, didactic and cultural material that facilitates the knowledge of the different cultures; promotion of cultural exchange that enables the acquisition of new teaching-learning experiences and the search for opportunities for socio-cultural growth.

My name is Marisol Rendón, I have a diploma from a teacher training college, a degree in Modern Languages and a master’s degree in Educational Technologies and Digital Skills. I have experience teaching English and Spanish linguistics as a mother tongue and as a foreign language, both in face-to-face environments and in virtual learning spaces. I have been a teacher at the University for almost 5 years and recently we started creating learning materials for Spanish as a foreign language aimed at students around the world.

In addition to the academic preparation and constant updating of knowledge, materials and information, in my classes there is always dynamism, creativity, trust and kindness. We learn best when we feel comfortable doing so.

I consider myself a highly motivated and hardworking professional with over 10 years of teaching experience. At ease in working in a multicultural and diverse environment, and passionate about teaching, traveling to unknown places and meeting new people. I studied Modern Languages and a Master’s degree in Translation and Intercultural mediation in Spain. In 2019, I started working as the Academic Coordinator at the Languages Center in the University of Manizales, which has allowed me to interact with people from abroad and develop strategies to improve our courses from an international perspective.
